1 week to go..

To go from what?

To go from here..

Where's here?

Here is the place called FEUI. The place where I've spent my last 5 years get my brain drained. You could say it a "Graduation".

How could you get out?

1 week, 7 days from now.. I will do my final final comprehensive exam. You'll face 3 lecturers in a room. Yeah.. Sort of an interview. Interview to determine if you have the requirement to be "graduated". They will ask you questions. Questions about all the lessons you have studied in FEUI.

Why do you want to get out anyway? Is that place bad? Would you go to a better place after you "graduate"?

No.. Not at all.. This place isn't bad at all.. I just have to move on.. Continue my life.. Going through another phase of my life.. And I didn't say that the place I'll go after the "Graduation" would be a better place.. It's just different..

What do you mean with “different”?

Yeah.. “Different” means “not same”.. He..He..He.. *Remind me of “same same” What if I made a band named “different different”*

It’s just another phase of my life.. More responsibilities.. More obligations.. More colleagues but less friends..

The changing phases will change my status too.. From university student to unemployment.. But I hope it won’t be long for me to get a job that really suits me..

The blessings in my life.. It would be more and more again..

And I have a wish for you, my-other-half.. Please stay.. Don't go changing.. I love You just the way you are..

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................... What have happened to me?

There is white
and there is black.
Human is in between.

There is light
and there is shadow.
Human is in between.

There is nothing
and there is everything.
Human is in between.

There is love
and there is hate.
Human is in between.

There is laughter
and there is cry.
Human is in between.

There is chaos
and there is rhyme.
Human is in between.

There is start
and there is stop.
Human is in between.

There is beginning
and there is ending.
Human is in between.

There is angel
and there is devil.
Human is in between.

Heaven is up above
and Hell is down below.
Human is everything in between.

Adapted from a forum...
Excellent poems by not so famous poets... found on toilet doors and walls...

A budding poet trying his best...

Here I lie in stinky vapor,
Because some bastard stole the toilet paper,
Shall I lie, or shall I linger,
Or shall I be forced to use my finger.

Before he graduated to be a poet, he wrote this...

Here I sit
Broken hearted
Tried to shit
But only farted

Someone who had a different experience wrote,

You're lucky
You had your chance
I tried to fart,
And shit my pants!

Perhaps it's true that people find inspiration in toilets.

I came here
To shit and stink,
But all I do
Is sit and think.

There are also people who come in for a different purpose...

Some come here to sit and think,
Some come here to shit and stink,
But I come here to scratch my balls,
And read the bullshit on the walls...

Toilets walls also double as job advertisement space.......
(written high upon the wall)
If you can piss above this line, the Singapore Fire Department wants you.

Ministry of Environment advertisement.

We aim to please!
You aim too! Please!

Seen above a urinal:

Please do not throw cigarette butts in our urinal.
We don't piss in your ashtrays!

On the inside of a toilet door:

Patrons are requested to remain seated throughout the entire performance.

A sign at a swimming pool bathroom:

We don't swim in your toilet, so please don't pee in our pool.

Another sign seen at a swimming pool:

Welcome to our ool.
Notice there's no P in it.
Please keep it that way.

And finally, this should teach some a lesson...
Sign seen at a restaurant:

The hands that clean these toilets also make your food...please aim properly!

I’ve watched O channel on Wednesday, June 7th 2006. There’s a TV shows adapted from VH1. It was “Evolution”. When I watched that show, they were talking about “soft rock” there. The history and timeframe, the bands, and of course, their evolution.

In the 70s, those bands are:

  • STYX, which is famous with the hit “Babe”. I often sing this song for Chiyo, with a few revision of course. This is how I sing it for her: *You know it’s You, Bek..* MLU, sweetheart ( ^_^ )

  • Journey.

  • REO Speedwagon.

Actually, they used to be a progressive rock band (remember Rush, or Dream Theater). But then, they try to touch male’s sensitive side. They weren’t ashamed to sing ballad rock – rock song with love lyrics. Then, they succeed and sold millions copies. So they continue to make more ballad rock songs.

In the 80s, the bands were getting softer, slower, even sappier. Those bands are:
  • Air Supply..
  • Chicago.

  • Genesis.

Some people see them as a humiliating collection and cheap taste. They will put then on the behind on their records collection. But they buyand collect them, anyway. 80s soft rock bands are just like Rocky or Rambo at the movie. You know its corny, but some people love them, somehow.

I know, you must have heard the term “metrosexual guy”, and I’m sure you know what it is. In mid 90s, there’s a similar term. It is “The Snag”. It means “a sensitive new age guy”. The perfect example for “a snag” is the one and only..Michael Bolton.

Now, we’re going to the early 90s. The bands are:

  • Counting Crows.

  • Blessed Union of Souls.

  • Hootie and The Blowfish.

And on the late 90s are:

  • Coldplay.

  • Creed.

  • Travis.

I’m sure, you won’t put them on the back of your CD case to hide them if you have their records. They’re not humiliating at all. Even though, according to that VH1 show, they are soft rock bands – by subjective definition, of course.

Well.. It bothers me. What are definition of “rock” anyway? What it takes to be called as a “rock” band? I don’t think the term “soft rock” is relevant, anyway. I’m sure that people will accept Coldplay and Counting Crows more to be called as a “rock” band. Compared with STYX and Journey. And I’m sure that some people will agree with me. How could the show put Air Supply as a “rock” band? They don’t even a band.

Could somebody explain?

Yeah..Yeah..Yeah.. La Copa De La Vida.. The God of Football has come to the world once again..
It's gonna be the 3rd match for every group, this week.. But England hasn't show their best ability.. Their winning 2-0 from Trinidad and Tobago didn't show their superiority yet..  C'mon England.. Don't let us down.. Roar, three lions! Roar!

"THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN"

This is the plot:

A bandit terrorizes a small Mexican farming village each year. Several of the village elders send three of the farmers into the United States to search for gunmen to defend them. They end up with 7, each of whom comes for a different reason. They must prepare the town to repulse an army of over 100 bandits who will arrive wanting food. They teach the farmers to defend themselves. In the end, they

Cast:

The 7 Gunmen:
Yul Brynner .... Chris Adams
Steve McQueen .... Vin
Brad Dexter .... Harry Luck
Charles Bronson .... Bernardo O'Reilly
Robert Vaughn .... Lee
Horst Buchholz .... Chico
James Coburn .... Britt

The Villain:
Eli Wallach .... Calvera

Actually, the story wasn’t surprising enough. Beginning, action, then the good guys always win. The four of them are dead as heroes. They are Harry Luck, Bernardo, Lee, and Britt. The three, rest of them, continue their live on their own path.

I just feel amused about that movie. The stories went straight and clear, but not flat. This quote are from the movie. Told by O’Reilly to a village boy.

Village Boy 2:  We're ashamed to live here. Our fathers are cowards.
O'Reilly:  Don't you ever say that again about your fathers, because they are not cowards. You think I am brave because I carry a gun; well, your fathers are much braver because they carry responsibility, for you, your brothers, your sisters, and your mothers. And this responsibility is like a big rock that weighs a ton. It bends and it twists them until finally it buries them under the ground. And there's nobody says they have to do this. They do it because they love you, and because they want to. I have never had this kind of courage. Running a farm, working like a mule every day with no guarantee anything will ever come of it. This is bravery. That's why I never even started anything like that... that's why I never will.

Yeah.. Not the man with a gun who is the bravest. But the bravest is them who carry their responsibility. It’s not the man who dare to face the death who is the bravest. But the bravest is them who dare to live their life.
